Has anyone had success with chiropractic care in regards to CF symptoms? My daughter has mostly the digestive side of CF and I've heard that chiropractic care can sometimes help....

any info appreciated :0)

Hey Krista, I myself am a Chiropractor and a father to my 2 year old son Colby! If you have any questions let me know I'll be glad to answer them for you. Chiropractic is quite simple to understand actually.... We are doctors of the nervous system and it just so happens the spine encases it, so we look for misalingments in the spine causing pressure to a nerve that causes the nerve not to function as well. If that is the nerve that supplies information from your brain to let's say your lungs, you can see how that can decrease the function of that organ. So we realign the spine to take pressure off of the spinal cord allowing it to function to it's full capacity there by allowing your body to function better and fight off disease. I always tell my wife how bad I feel knowing this and knowing how much it can help other's with CF, but not being able to help them. So let me know if you have questions! My son is healthy and never been hospitalized and I acredit some of that to chiropractic care.

I've gone to the chiropractor tons of times for my chronic back pain. I haven't specifically used it for CF stuff but one of chiros told me a story about one of his patients and her baby. The kid was having really bad constipation issues (sound familiar anyone?) so the chiro asked if he could adjust the baby. The mom said sure and the instant he adjusted the baby's neck he overflowed his diaper. Poo got everwhere. So I believe that it could definately help!

My cousins dont have cf but they were born with severe digestive problems. They started going to a chiropractor for electric stimulization. It seemed to really help them. They are going to be 6 this summer and have only had a few stomach problems.
I know that there are pressure points that can help with stomach problems and lung problems. I havent tried it because its rather expensive and i cant find anyone that takes my insurance. From how i seen it help my cousins, i would highly recommend getting this done for your daughter.
